Located in the Tornio Valley in Lapland, Pello is a paradise for salmon- and lake fishermen, as well as the actual fishing capital of Finland. Each year, more than 100,000 salmon traverse the Tornio River. Pello is also known for its large fishing lakes such as Miekojärvi on the Arctic Circle.
